History
Símula was founded in 1988 and initially focused on developing software for complex production planning and scheduling that required optimization algorithms. At that time, Símula created solutions for large companies such as Alcan, Alcoa, Champion, Copersucar, Cutrale, Ripasa, Suzano, Votorantim, and Witron (located in Germany).
At the end of the 1990s Símula chose to narrow its focus, concentrating on software for corrugated-packaging plants, paper mills, and metal-coil slitting plants:
- TrimBox: Software for corrugated-packaging and carton plants.
- TrimPaper: Software for paper mills.
- TrimRoll: Software for plants that slit metal coils.
Today the company is the Brazilian market leader in its segment, using the industry's most comprehensive optimization algorithms.
